What is the current version of HOTcopy?
Version AU 1.0.0 titled ' A virtual Newroom' is the current version
published in October 2003 under the joint imprint Deakin University / Allen and Unwin.
This commercial version contains six scenarios. Prior to this version, students
of Deakin University have used version 1. (containing 3 scenarios: 'First Few Pars',
'Coolabah Council', and 'Cleveland Street'), version 2 (containing a further two
scenarios: 'Fire, Fire!!' and 'Death Trap') and version 3 (containing a further scenario
'Fatal Crash'). Various improvements were made over the course of three versions such as
the HOTcopy tour, general performance of the CD ROM, web connectivity for scenario updates
and the CD auto-start feature. From the commencement of 2004 the only version
for sale is Version AU 1.0.0 titled ' A virtual Newroom'.
Why do the newsroom office characters sometimes move in a jerky manner?
Computers having a CD burner/player seem not to have adequate playing performance (e.g early coloured iMACs).
A CD play speed of 24x is the minimum. If you know that the specifications
of your computer are equal to or better that those stated on the HOTcopy CD, a jerky playing of
HOTcopy characters may be caused by an old version of QuickTime on your computer. Install the version of
QuickTime provided on the HOTcopy CD.
